Bypassify Guides
Everything you need to know to get started
Setup Guide
Follow these steps to get Bypassify up and running on your Mac. Complete all steps before your exam.
1 Authenticating Your HWID
Your Hardware ID (HWID) links Bypassify to your specific device.
- Open System Settings
- Click About
- Locate your Serial Number
- Copy the ID you see
- Head to HWID Configuration
- Paste the ID into the "Enter your HWID" box and click Update
Example Serial Number: J5CY12E7CYT
Important:
Complete this step first! Don't forget to return to this guide after setting your HWID.
2 Download Bypassify
- Head over to Downloads
- Click the Download for macOS button
- Save the .dmg file to your Downloads folder
3 Setting Up Bypassify
- Open the .dmg file from your Downloads
- Drag the Bypassify application into your Applications folder
- Open the application from the Applications directory
- If the app doesn't open:
- Open System Settings
- Click Privacy and Security
- Scroll down and click Open Anyway
- Grant all requested permissions when prompted
- If prompted to access
backend_secret, enter your Mac password and click Always Allow
4 Read the Documentation
CRITICAL:
Read the Controls & Settings Guide and Bypass Guide below BEFORE every exam to avoid last-minute surprises. Many users who skip this step get caught or fail. Don't be one of them.
5 Test It Out!
Before your actual exam, test Bypassify to get comfortable with how it works:
- Practice taking screenshots
- Test the hide/unhide functionality
- Try all three AI models to understand their differences
- Verify everything works as expected
Current Capabilities:
Bypassify v1.5 currently bypasses all versions of Honorlock, Proctorio, and ATI. These services will likely never be able to patch this software.
Bypass Guide
Screen Recording Bypass
Yes! Bypassify bypasses screen recording. Bypassify bypasses Honorlock's screen recording on all versions of macOS. Just ensure you're using Google Chrome when taking your exam.
What You Can Do
- Screenshots: Fully supported and recommended
- Text Input: Works perfectly in Honorlock
- Multiple Screenshots: Take up to 6 screenshots per request if a question doesn't fit in one
What to Avoid
Copying/Pasting:
While you CAN copy/paste, you should AVOID it. All Honorlock exams are screen recorded, and copying/pasting answers will likely get you in trouble. Stick to screenshots instead.
Pre-Exam Checklist
- Test Bypassify functionality BEFORE your exam
- Familiarize yourself with all controls (see below)
- Verify your HWID is properly configured
- Ensure you're using Google Chrome
- Test screenshot and text input features
Troubleshooting
AI Refusing to Help? Sometimes AI may detect you're in a proctored exam and refuse assistance. Solution: Hit the trash icon to reset the conversation and try again.
Screenshots Not Getting a Response? Make sure you don't forget to Send to AI using the down arrow! The paper airplane (text input) button does NOT send screenshots.
Controls & Settings Guide
All controls are listed at the bottom of the Bypassify application. You don't need to memorize these, but familiarize yourself with them before your exam.
Keyboard Shortcuts
CRITICAL - ATI Users:
If you are taking an ATI exam, you MUST use the default arrow key hotkeys. ATI can detect Cmd+[key] combinations. While Bypassify supports customizable hotkeys, DO NOT customize them for ATI exams.
| Default Keybind | Function |
|---|---|
| Right Arrow | Hide/Unhide Bypassify instantly |
| Up Arrow | Take a Screenshot |
| Down Arrow | Send captured screenshot(s) to AI |
| Left Arrow | Cycle AI Models (GPT 5.2 → Claude 4.5 → Gemini 3 Pro) |
| Cmd + Q | Quit Bypassify |
Customizable Hotkeys:
Bypassify now supports custom keyboard shortcuts! You can configure your preferred hotkeys in Settings. However, remember: For ATI exams, stick to arrow keys only.
AI Model Comparison
Switch between models using Left Arrow
Settings Menu
Access settings by clicking the Gear Icon. Close by pressing Esc.
AVOID OPENING SETTINGS WHILE TESTING
This may cause weird interactions or trigger flags. Configure settings during practice only.
- Theme: Switch between dark mode, light mode, and custom themes
- Transparency: Adjust transparency to your preference
- Screenshot/Text Context: Add custom instructions (e.g., "Respond within 1 sentence")
- Custom Hotkeys: Configure your own keyboard shortcuts (not recommended for ATI)
Remember: Click Save Settings before exiting the settings menu!
Best Practices
- Use Right Arrow to quickly hide Bypassify if needed
- Take multiple screenshots (up to 6) for long questions
- Cycle through models: GPT 5.2 → Claude 4.5 → Gemini 3 Pro
- Choose the right model for your question type
- Reset conversation (trash icon) if AI refuses to help
- Always send screenshots with Down Arrow, not text button
- Configure all settings during practice, not during exams
- FOR ATI: Use arrow keys only - no Cmd+ shortcuts!
- Customize hotkeys in Settings for other services (not ATI)
Service-Specific Notes
ATI - Critical Keybind Warning
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT FOR ATI:
ATI has the capability to detect keyboard shortcuts that use the Command (Cmd) key. This means:
- ✅ Safe: Arrow keys (↑ ↓ ← →)
- ❌ UNSAFE: Cmd+Any Key combinations
Solution: Always use the default arrow key hotkeys when taking ATI exams. Do not customize your hotkeys to use Cmd+ combinations if you're taking ATI.
Honorlock & Proctorio
More Flexible:
These services do not detect keyboard shortcuts in the same way. You can safely use customizable hotkeys including Cmd+ combinations with these services.
Respondus (Pro Plan Only)
Advanced Bypass:
Respondus bypass is available on the Pro Plan. Contact support on Discord for setup instructions.
You're All Set! Make sure to test everything before your actual exam. Good luck!
