Everything you need to know to get started
Windows Setup Guide
Follow these steps to get Bypassify running on your Windows PC. Complete all steps before your exam.
1 Download & Install
- Head over to Downloads
- Scroll to the Windows section
- Click Download for Windows to get the installer
- Run Bypassify-v1-Setup.exe
- If Windows Defender SmartScreen appears, click More info then Run anyway
- The installer will set up Bypassify with a randomized name for security — a shortcut with a random name will appear on your Desktop and Start Menu
2 Run Bypassify
- Look for the randomly named shortcut on your Desktop created by the installer
- Right-click the shortcut and select Run as Administrator
- Your HWID will be displayed and automatically copied to your clipboard
3 Configure Your HWID
- Head to HWID Configuration
- Scroll to the Windows HWID section
- Paste your HWID into the input box and click Update Windows HWID
4 Launch Bypassify
- Re-open Bypassify (Run as Administrator again)
- The app will now authenticate and open the main window
5 Test It Out!
Before your actual exam, test Bypassify to get comfortable with how it works:
- Click the text box to type a question, or take a screenshot with Ctrl+U
- Send to AI with Ctrl+Enter or click the send button
- Test hiding/showing with Ctrl+B
- Open settings with Ctrl+S
Windows Controls Guide
Bypassify uses a mix of click-based and keyboard controls. Familiarize yourself with these before your exam.
Text Input
- Click the text box to start typing a question
- Click the send button or press Ctrl+Enter to send
- Click outside the text box or press Escape to exit typing mode
- You can send text, screenshots, or both together

Settings
Access settings by pressing Ctrl+S.
- Theme: Switch between System, Light, and Dark mode
- Transparency: Adjust window transparency
- Text Context: Add custom instructions for text-based AI queries
- Screenshot Context: Add custom instructions for screenshot-based AI queries
- AI Model: Select your preferred AI model
Windows Bypass Guide
How It Works
Bypassify for Windows creates an invisible overlay that cannot be detected by screen capture software.
Supported Proctoring Services
- Honorlock: Fully bypassed - screen recording cannot detect the overlay
- Proctorio: Fully bypassed - invisible to all monitoring
- ATI: Fully bypassed - overlay is undetectable
What You Can Do
- Text Input: Click the text box to type questions directly
- Screenshots: Capture any area of your screen and send to AI
- AI Models: Cycle between models with Ctrl+M or choose in Settings (Ctrl+S)
- Move Window: Position the overlay anywhere using Ctrl+Arrow Keys
- Quick Hide: Instantly hide/show with Ctrl+B
Pre-Exam Checklist
- Verify your Windows HWID is properly configured
- Test all keyboard shortcuts before your exam
- Run Bypassify as Administrator
- Ensure stable internet connection
- Practice hiding/showing the overlay quickly
- Use Google Chrome for your exam
Troubleshooting
Setup Guide
Follow these steps to get Bypassify up and running on your Mac. Complete all steps before your exam.
1 Authenticating Your HWID
Your Hardware ID (HWID) links Bypassify to your specific device.
- Open System Settings
- Click About
- Locate your Serial Number
- Copy the ID you see
- Head to HWID Configuration
- Paste the ID into the "Enter your HWID" box and click Update
2 Download Bypassify
- Head over to Downloads
- Click the Download for macOS button
- Save the .dmg file to your Downloads folder
3 Setting Up Bypassify
- Open the .dmg file from your Downloads
- Drag the Bypassify application into your Applications folder
- Open the application from the Applications directory
- If the app doesn't open:
- Open System Settings
- Click Privacy and Security
- Scroll down and click Open Anyway
- Grant all requested permissions when prompted
- If prompted to access
backend_secret, enter your Mac password and click Always Allow
4 Read the Documentation
5 Test It Out!
Before your actual exam, test Bypassify to get comfortable with how it works:
- Practice taking screenshots
- Test the hide/unhide functionality
- Try all three AI models to understand their differences
- Verify everything works as expected

- Multiple Screenshots: Take up to 6 screenshots per request if a question doesn't fit in one

All controls are listed at the bottom of the Bypassify application. You don't need to memorize these, but familiarize yourself with them before your exam.

AI Model Comparison
Switch between models using Left Arrow
Settings Menu
Access settings by clicking the Gear Icon. Close by pressing Esc.
- Theme: Switch between dark mode, light mode, and custom themes
- Transparency: Adjust transparency to your preference
- Screenshot/Text Context: Add custom instructions (e.g., "Respond within 1 sentence")
- Custom Hotkeys: Configure your own keyboard shortcuts (not recommended for ATI)
Best Practices
- Use Right Arrow to quickly hide Bypassify if needed
- Take multiple screenshots (up to 6) for long questions
- Cycle through models: GPT 5.4 → Claude 4.5 → Gemini 3 Pro
- Choose the right model for your question type
- Reset conversation (trash icon) if AI refuses to help
- Always send screenshots with Down Arrow, not text button
- Configure all settings during practice, not during exams
- FOR ATI: Use arrow keys only - no Cmd+ shortcuts!
- Customize hotkeys in Settings for other services (not ATI)
Service-Specific Notes
ATI - Critical Keybind Warning
- ✅ Safe: Arrow keys (↑ ↓ ← →)
- ❌ UNSAFE: Cmd+Any Key combinations
Solution: Always use the default arrow key hotkeys when taking ATI exams. Do not customize your hotkeys to use Cmd+ combinations if you're taking ATI.
